| You're the event planner and the monkey's on your back. The
Company Picnic is fast approaching and it's up to you to put on a good
show. How can you possibly upstage last year's big event? Rest easy,
amigo, you're having a Fiesta! (Take note for
publicizing the event, that word is always followed by an exclamation
point. It's like the seventh letter of the word almost.) You
just landed on a gold mine and we're going to help you dig it out. Grab
a margarita and get ready for some fun! |
| |
| What does everyone want out of this event? They want to have
a good time. They want something to remember. They want to have some
fun. And one word always means fun and good times: |
| |
F I E S T A !
|
| |
| Fiesta! The very word itself conjures up thoughts of having
fun. People all over the world know that word, regardless of the
language they speak. It's a feast. It's a party. It's bright colors,
lots of food, good music, smiling faces, decorations, and probably some
alcohol. We'll leave that part up to you, but without it, you may as
well remove that exclamation point. Try an afternoon tea instead. A
party without booze is no fiesta. (Kid's parties excepted.) |
| |
If you're going to have a Fiesta! you'll need great
decorations, whether the event is indoors or out. Bright colors are the
key and Mexican artists don't worry about words like 'matching' or
'complementary'. They use every color available and mix them freely.
Hey, it's a Fiesta! Hour upon hour, day after day is spent preparing
for a fiesta in Old Mexico. There are serapes, ponchos, sombreros,
fancy dresses and table decorations to make. There are piñatas to fill,
paper flowers to make, music to pick, and games to plan. There will be
lots of decorations with bright colors all around, and this
will set the atmosphere for having a good time.
|
| |
So, you don't have the time to do all that, but we can sure
help. All the brightly colored serapes, ponchos, sombreros and handcrafts you could ever need are already here for you at Latham Trading Post. We'll help with the atmosphere. You supply the food and beverage
and you're ready for a Fiesta! Take a good look around the website to

People attending the event will later cherish some memento
from the party. Our mini sombreros are great for filling that need and make good name holders at the table. Handmade, handpainted maracas are another idea. Our handwoven rugs, baskets, blankets and serapes are excellent awards and door prizes too. Use them for decorations, then give them away as prizes at the end of the event! Having a fundraiser? Auction them off!
|
| |
Line a handmade Mexican basket with food grade
plastic wrap. Fill it with tortilla chips and sink a bowl of
salsa in the middle. Set it on a small serape in the middle of the
table for added color. When the party's over, some lucky event planner
gets to take the basket and serape home as a wonderful keepsake.
One client used a sombrero on each table for this, crushing the top of
the hat in to hold the salsa bowl and placing chips around the brim.

|
|
|
Hang colorful Mexican blankets, rugs or serapes
on the walls or suspended between trees to keep the dust of the baseball
game off the food tables and add vibrant color to both sides. More
door prizes or awards at the end of the day.

Using the chin strap, hang colorful sombreros on
